Our Embroiderers

Devi lives in the village of Anna Nagar. Married with two children, Devi has been embroidering since 2014.
Her 6 year old daughter participates in the Irula Children's Primary School Scholarship program sponsored by South Asian Village Empowerment. Her boy is still a sweet little baby as you can see here.

Sudha is only 19 and has joined the embroidery
​group in October 2015 and is still a student of the art form. She lives in Anna Nagar village with her family.

V.Kullammal was probably instrumental in getting Sudha along to the embroidery group in Anna Nagar since the two are close friends.
Kullammal joined the group in August 2015.

Kavita has boundless energy and the most gorgeous smile that she almost shared with us in this photo!
Kavita has been embroidering since May 2104 and does the most exquisitely detailed stitching.
She lives in a pukka house in Jeeva Nagar village with her husband and two children, a 5 year old boy and a 6 year old girl both of whom attend the local school.
